Default How to identify what hubs I have?

Hey guys, this might be a silly question, but I couldn't find much good info by searching.

Basically here is my problem - I'm trying to order new brake rotors and pads for my 91 CRX HF, but the ones I recieved don't appear to be the correct ones. I got them off my buddy who said he'd take care of me, didn't mention what trim level the rotors were for. My car has a B16 swap, and from what I understand you can not use HF hubs with the swap, you must use Si or DX hubs, is this piece of information correct?

If so how would I determine if I have Si or DX hubs? Does it even matter? Will Si rotors work with DX hubs and vice versa? What about brake pads? The ones I recieved appeared to be very similar in design to the ones that were installed.

I would just check the part number on the rotors I got for it but we tried installing them on a different car (ordered two sets of rotors at once, and they were marked as Sentra rotors, so we attempted to install them on the Sentra) long story short, the part number was scored right off the top of the rotor.

Is there a number or marking I can look for on the hub or rotor?

Thanks

for a b16 you do need si or dx hubs. that is correct. from what i can find though, the crx dx uses a different pad than the crx si. all the civic hatchbacks appear to use the same pads as the crx dx. the crx hf pads are unique and the crx si pads are unique as well. that is what i got from going to hawk brake pads website and looking at crx and civic pads. so, since you cant use the hf hubs, that is out, and the crx dx and all the hatchback models are the same pads, so that means that you should only have 2 choices for hubs, either the crx si pads or the crx dx pads. if they used any civic hubs they would just be the same as the crx dx.

anyway... if someone else can vouch for this too that would be good, cause its late and im tired. as for numbers on the rotors or hubs, im not sure. good luck though..

all si brakes and dx brakes are the same except 90-91 crx si. in this instance, they changed the calipers slightly, probably in reaction to the addition of rear disc brakes. the rotors are still the same, but it has different calipers, and therefore different pads. if your rotors are for a dx/si, you should be good, if not, you're not.

Thanks, good info guys. I figured about the same thing out last night. So basically all DX and Si rotors are the same, but the pads are not.

The pads I recieved appeared to work fine, so I'm assuming I have DX pads.

Thanks for the help, appreciate it.
