f/s: fully built LS/VTEC gen2 turbo needs shell FL still drivable *many pics*
Hey guys. It’s time to sell my ’93 Gen 2 turbo. I would like to sell the car as a whole- as it is still very drivable. I would like to sell it to someone who can take the motor and turbo and transplant it into a better shell. It would be better suited for a Gen 2 because of the intercooler, strut bar, etc., but would still be a great deal for a Gen 3 as well. Or gut it further solely for strip use. But basically, I’m selling a motor, full turbo kit, electronics, wheels, etc.
THE BAD
First off, the shell of the car has seen better days. When I got her 6 years ago, I got screwed. Had I known about everything, I don’t think I would have bought it, much less pay as much as I did. First of all, the entire driver’s side was in a huge accident. The entire rear quarter, door, and bumper were taken from a different car and repainted red. This is where the problems started. The paint job was garbage. The clear coat started to chip off within a year or two. I wish I had seen the hand welds on the rear quarter, as the previous owners said nothing. Mother effers. Then come to find out that a gallon (at least) of something was spilled in the rear seat. After dealing with the smell for 4 years, I decided to investigate. When I pulled out what was left of the rear seat- a brown mass of gew that was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen/smelled/felt- I found the source of the smell. So that’s why the rear seats are gone. I never had floor mats of any kind that lasted, so that’s why the carpet is destroyed. As for having 182k on the car, the transmission has seen better days. Needs new 3rd and 4th sync. as well as probably a new final drive. Yea…it was an all around bad buy.
THE GOOD
The motor has ~55k miles on it since the rebuild. All new Honda bearings, gaskets, etc. were used. The turbo has about 2.5k miles on it- as I had to replace the XSCrapPower turbo. http://www.team-integra.net/fo...earch The head was assembled by Castles Machine in GA. The tuning was done using <CROME> with real time programming, a J+S Safeguard and a wideband. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to see what kind of power she made on a dyno, however, in a DC2, she made a 13.19 ¼ mile pass at 9.8 psi.
LS/VTEC
SRP Flat top Turbo Pistons 9.5:1 total compression
Eagle H Beam Rods
InlinePRO T3 cast SS manifold
“TiAL” (not real…but works just as good) wastegate with .5bar spring
2.5” DP to exhaust
GReddy MX Exhaust (quiet)
Turbonetics ball bearing T3/T4 57 trim A/R 60 (I believe….I could be wrong)
Port & Polished head w/3 angle valve job
KMS racing valve springs and retainers
ARP Head studs
GSR cams
Brand new Distributor modified for MSD Blaster 2 coil
Magnecore race wires
99 Si Intake Manifold
Custom WRX intercooler with BOV modified for Air/Liquid (for those that want to bash this, I’ll discuss it later.)
Marine bilge pump inline
Radiator from 1200cc cruiser for heat exchanger
Neuspeed front strut tower bar
Place Racing front crossmember
Suspension Tech Coilovers
GSR Blades
Battery relocated to rear
<CROME> chipped p28
-tuned to 8psi, with a base map for up to 11.7 psi
-launch control
-check engine light shift light
-boost limiter at 8psi
-Dataloging capable through installed RS232 to DB9 port
-Ready for OBD1 Real Time Programming
GReddy FATT specII turbo timer
Autometer boost gauge
Autometer oil pressure gauge
Autometer water temp gauge

Huge dent in the rear...it sucks.

Now. For those of you that want to bash this intercooler. First of all, the heat
exchanger is huge. Here it is:

And here's the pump:

At idle on a 93 degree day at operating temp: (notice the IAT temp at 100)

And during a run:

It makes power, keeps the air cool, and looks friggin cool as heck if ya ask me. Not to mention notice the lack of charge piping...less pressure loss.
You can view all of the photos HERE.
For those interested, here's the map on the ECU.
If you guys want more pictures or have questions, feel free to PM me or email me.
I'm asking $3500 for everything...all of the above. But I really need to sell it, so make me a reasonable offer, and it's yours. I would be willing to drive anywhere in FL or meet halfway or whatever. And again...I'd like to not part it out. I'd rather wait for someone to take the whole car...but if I do end up parting it out, you'll know.
Thanks for looking, guys.
