Default motor acting up??

so weve been gettin a crap load of rain lately and ive gotten stuck in some flooding situations where i had to drive through about 10-12 inches of water (i know it sux, i couldnt help it). i have a short ram, but ever since ive hit those puddles my car has not been acting right at all.

straight off the bat i noticed that its very rough when i go through the powerband-it kinda feels like a badly balanced tire, but it goes away when i coast. also, i have intermittent power loss at low rpms where it feels like nothin is going on in the engine. i noticed some water on the bottom of my air filter, so i pulled the plugs and cranked (thankfully no water came out) but i think some internal damage may have been had. i dont have access to a compression tester or cylinder leak tester, so i guess im just goin off theories.

has anyone had problems like this after water and maybe im overlooking somethin?

I had the same problem before. I took off the distributor cap and noticed there was water in it.So we sprayed it with some electrical connections spray(the kind that evaporates) and put it back on and the car ran fine. This may not the be case with your car but hey...Its worth a try.

well, i took off the cap and everything was covered in that brown dust-so i cranked to turn the rotor screw so i could unscrew it but it wasnt necessary because it was laying in my distributor cap . thanks for the info-looks like i need to replace them both cuz my rotor is completely tore up and the #1 contact on the cap is broke in half. im kinda suprised it ran.
