Probably, since a element that causes restriction is removed. But, a filter is there for a reason. Without the filter your engine can be damaged by dirt and particles in the air. You can get a less restrictive filter, but you shouldn't completely get rid of the air filter.

no filter give you the best performance....at the cost of a dirty engine. the trade offs =/ if you dont care about how long your engine lasts, it will give you the best HP/cost ratio hehe

yeah and when your oil gets dirty, instead of changing it, just drain it all out so you will have a clean motor

It didn't have any problems for tens of thousands of miles other than the fact that oil became dirty very quickly. i just didn't give a damn. it was slow, the tranny grinded in 3rd and 4th, and it only costs a couple hundred to replace anyway if it ever did fail on me..and it never did.
