Default 91 Accord won't start

Okay here is my problem. I took off the #1 plug wire with the car running and then sat it on the valve cover to go cut the car off. On my way to cut the car off it stopped running on it's on. Now the car will not start at all. It turns over but will never fire up. I replaced the igniter but no luck. It sounds like it almost starts but never does. I checked the coil and I got a reading of 18ohms which according to Haynes manual should be good. Any other suggestions??? Also I have alot of oil inside my spark plugs wires. I am gonna replace them to see if that might be the problem. Appreciate any replies

You had a marginal dist rotor to begin with. Removing the spark plug wire increased the resistance to the point that the coil discharge found an easier path thru the distributor rotor direct to the distributor shaft. You were correct in replacing the ignitor, it's usually the other part victimized by errant coil outputs.
Also take a close look at your cap. Replacing it is cheep insurance

Dont just throw parts at it, gets expensive. Does it have spark?

When u have oil on your spark plugs and the tip of the spark plug wires that is it u need a new motor that means then ur set engine blew out that is what they told me anyways.

Oil in the spark plug wells is indicative of bad valve cover seals for the plug wells.
Most valve cover gasket sets come with the spark plug well seals, and it's good mechanical sense to replace them whenever the engine top is opened up. Once installed, they take a set from pressure and heat and do NOT reseal well.

Ok...I would replace the distribuitor cap and the rotor...I had intermitent starting problem and it turned to be the rotor and cap...That is the least expensive thing that you can do. It also can be the main relay (left side inder the dash ).The main relay controls the fuel pump ,so you may want to listen if it does make noise when you turn it on... Usually, stays on for a couple of seconds ,and turns off ,unless the engine starts...
regarding the oil on the plug wire ...The plug gaskets are the problem here...replace them when you open the valve cover (replace that one too).
