well, after enduring my own spun rod bearing and replacing all the main and rod bearings a coworker of my roomates dad wants me to fix his car (97 civic ex SOHC D16Y8).. sounds like a spun rod bearing on the no1 piston... as mine was.. so.... i'm on my way to pulling the head and all the other goodies Ill have to pull to get to the pistons to yank them and the crank. if anyone is interested Ill post pics and stuff like that.. wish me luck!

 

could you post some pictures, im pretty sure my 89 accord just spun its bearing.
