Default 4-lug Type-R

Can some one verify this for me ?

I have seen a friend with a print out from the internet with the specs of the Japanese Type-R , and on this print out it said that Japanese Type-R ( Right hand drive ) come with 4-lug hubs .
I have looked at a Japanese Type-R before , yes it was righthand drive , but I didn't remeber to check for the 4-lug !

I wanted to know if this is true ?

If i'm not mistaken, only the JDM 96 spec came with 4lugs. The rest of the R's came with 5 lugs

They don't look like regular 7-spoke R wheels. They looks different. I'll post a pic if I can find it.

the 5 lug type r wheel is a lot heavier than the 4 lug. anyways, looks is all preference. besides EVERYONE has the 5 lug, its no big deal. just another passing trend that people now are just catching the tail end of. i can't believe the prices you guys pay for that stuff.

guess I'll add my poop to this thread..
yeah, there was a 4 lug Type-R. The very first JDM ITR that lived from mid95-late 97, then the new 98's came out which were 5 lug (duh).

here's a dir. of pics you can snoop of a real 97 JDM ITR we sold a while back:
