Default ran my h22 eg for the first time **need advise**

Here is my setup:

1992 Honda Civic CX
gutted interior expect for dash and 2 front seats
1995 JDM H22A
P28 With JDMShit program
255lph walboro fuel pump
GE fuel rail
aeromotive fpr set at 42 psi
Gator axles
DC headers
no exhaust
Fake j's racing intake

running on 22x8x13 M&H slicks
my best time was 13.6@98 mph
my 60 ft time was 1.91

I was shifting at 7500 rpm but it felt sluggish at higher rpms.
It felt slow at the top end too.

What could be the problem?

here is a pic from the race.

mine is the hb closest to the camera person.

get your car tuned

try shifting at a lower rpm? (i was under the assumption h22's redline at 7200rpm)..

seems to be a good time, aside from being on slicks..

The jdmshit chip has a rev limit of 8400rpm.
I'll be ordering my wideband and laptop sometime this month and try to tune with crome. The only way to tune my car is street tune cause we don't have any dyno on island. Its too risky to ship the car to another island. Thiefs suck.
I tried shifting 3rd and 4th gears at lower rpm but it ran a slower et and mph too.

I'll post a pic of the timeslip tonight when I get home.

Also, is there a way to run the IAB with the p28 ecu?

i would have tthe IAB run on vacuum only, and the times/et you posted are good for your setup.
you should be able to get a lower 60 ft though, i launch at 6k rpm and can do a 1.7 60 ft.
other than tuning the program i wouldnt do anythign except drive it more....

oh yeah and stock fuel pressure for an h22a is 36-40 psi so drop pressure a little bit maybe....

with the 255lph fuel pump should i drop the pressure even more to regulate the fuel? thats what some one told me to do too but i'm not sure.

how do i run the IAB on vacuum only?

the fuel pump doenst regulate fuel pressure only volume, the pressure is set by the regulator only.

as far as the iab , take the vacuum line coming from the diaphragm and put it directly to a vacuum port. jsut bypass the box completely.

okay i'll try and drop the fuel pressure back to stock.

for the IAB i don't need to hook up the 2 wires? just connect it to any unused vaccum port on the intake manifold right? i have two port no used right above the iab.

Unless you have a special chip in that P28 you won't be able to control the secondary butterflies. A GSR or H22 program would.....

What were all your runs like? It's hard to tell from one run what you could do better. 98mph isn't going to get much better ET's than what you have already hit.

I shift my stock H22 at 82-8300 and launch at 6200 on 23x8x13 slicks. My best ET is in my sig....

The chip is a JDMShit program that they have made for the h22. It has a vtec crossover of 4800 and revlimit of 8400. I did 5 runs, i'll scan it and post some pics later. I had 1 15sec. run, 3 14sec. run and a 13sec run. I was launching at 6000 and shifting at 7500.

I saw your post about your setup and times in your teg and I was very impressed with that. I was kind of basing your times with mines because it is kind of similar setup and mine except you have a VAFC and cam gears.

My car would feel strong on the bottom end but lag on the topend. I need to get a timing light to see where the previous owner set the timing at. Kind of seems like it is too advanced.

I can tell by the low mph that something isn't right or you just aren't making as much power.
You should be hitting low 1.8 60's with those slicks too...... if not better.

stock and stock.

I'm running a walboro fuel pump and RC 370 saturated injectors. You need to get a wideband A/F reading on that car to see where you are at.

Thats next on my shopping list.

Shopping list:
1. Innovate Wideband
2. Laptop
3. RM Cams valve spring, retainers

I going to try researching crome and uberdata and try to fine tune the ecu with that.

If I ran times like yours here everybody would be like whoaaaaaaaaaaa!

Once you are tuned you will definetly see 12's.....it's amazing what a little dyno time does. Get your A/F dialed hit the track again. Then you can say Whoaaaaaaaaa!

it sucks not to have a dyno on island and no tuner that i'll trust. if something goes wrong i'll take the blame for it.

I'll update the progress of this car soon.

Try launching at 7500, I was able to put down a 1.7 60ft, 13.5 @103mph. But I am also at 4000 ft above sea level. What type of gas are u runnin? I tried runnin 110 on my stock h and it actually slowed me down after the 1/8 mile...

so you have a walbro 255, 370cc injectors, and a jdmshit chip? you have to be running extremely rich. the jdmshit chip basically takes type s maps, and adds some fuel and advances the timing a little. Then you got bigger injectors too. my car is faster on a stock p13 map than that chip because I was running overly rich. Get that wideband, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

its spinning a little off the line, no bogging at all. maybe i need to heat up the slicks a little more too.

I'm going to try to lauch harder the next time too. I was launching between 6000 and 6500rpm. I couldn't get a consistant launch cause something was malfuntioning my msd 2 step so i unhooked that.

I used 93 octane pump gas too.

I have stock injectors which is 345cc. i'm ordering my wideband soon so i can see whats actually happening. I'm going to check the timing too cause it feels like it advanced a little too much cause the bottom end feels strong but the topend lags alot. But since you said that the jdmshit program advances the timing a little maybe i need to retard the timing a degree or two.

I have a stock p13 but it will run like **** cause I removed the egr right? Correct me if I'm wrong, cause if i'm wrong then i'll run the p13 at the next races.

depends. If you have the egr solenoid (the 2 wire plug with the vacuum lines) plugged in, you can drive for a while without a cel, and performance won't suffer. I've found that the car does run a little slower when the egr cel is on. I just got a stock jdm p13 rom burned on a p28 chip, and it outperformed my jdm p13. Weird, but with .2 off my et with .005 drop in 60' time, and nothing else changed, it has to be the chip.

I think that have another chip for my p28 with a stock usdm h22a1 bin file. Are the usdm p13and jdm p13 roms the same? I guess it won't hurt to try it out right? I'm trying it today.
