Default aem itr intake in ef

i got an aem integra type r cold air intake for my b16 in my crx. it didn't fit. the bends in the second tube are allo wrong. so im curious if i were to cut the tube and add another piece of 3' pipe with a bend in it to make it a functional cold air would it still have a functional gain in horsepower compared to just using the first part of the aem pipe as a short ram. thanks for any advice.

did you run the pipe through the hole in the corner of the engine bay where the stock intake box usually mounts?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but don't you need to move the battery to the rear to use an ITR 3" cold air on an EF? I know I could use the 3" ITR cold air on my DA since my battery is in the rear.

my battery is one of those small odyssey ones and it is in a custom mount low down in between the motor and engine compartment on the pass side of the front of the engine bay
