I currently have a b16a in my crx and have a ls block lieing around. The block is sill goood but some of the head studs are stripped. I am planning on getting pistons and rods. I was wondering if if the ls crank fits in the b16 or would it just be worth and safe to have the block re-threaded??
If you want, you can try to find a B17 crank. That'll give you more displacement. Otherwise, I'd just get those threads in the LS block fixed, and get some ARP rod bolts and get the bottom end balanced, just to be safe, and use the LS block.
You have a couple of options here. You can stroke your motor with the LS crank, and buy pistons (Arias) and rods (Eagle Specialties), arp head studs, and use gsr bearings rod&main (have the rods notched), do some head work, and make 210+hp, 145-165ft-lbs of torque. Lots of money spent, but a damn good motor.
Or you can build the LS/V, only need type-r pistons, and your basically good, well except for the work done to the head to switch, also a damn good motor. Its your money, both are fun set-ups. I throw out the names because thats what I went with and the motor runs exceptionally well. Use whoever you like and whats in your budget.
