b18c guys let me know
i had a 91 ef-9 with a b16a.. i was wondering those of you who have a gsr under hood.. is there a big difference? i know its only 20hp..but in general im wondering if i should do another b16a or go 1.8?.. let me know.. i just got paid from my wreck.. dont know what to do with 5k and a bone stock crx.. some ideas would be great..ive even thought about trying d16z6 sohc turbo over gsr??
let me know!
thanks
All I can say is if you go b18, u should have an lsd otherwise you would have my problem...no traction in 1st or 2nd, I can only do a roll on in 2nd or a second gear start unless I go light in first gear and short shift. One tire fire is a whole new meaning when you increase the power and tourqe.

Or buy a car with a swap allready.
5000 or less should get a civic or crx with a gsr swap.

yea a boosted b16a would be great..high compression rate tho
..inlinepro 3mm head gasket with arp studs,bolts combined with a lil head work..yea i have thought about it but ive been told that the b16a sucks for boost..ive spoken with brian when he was with inline he said spray a small shot on a built b16a would be faster.. i realy want to do a gsr swap.im still wonderous on the gsr swap.. being compared to the b16a what other problems did you come across..2ndary vac,hydro conversion anything else..please explain..
also are any of you spraying a b16 or gsr??? how big of shot and what kind of times are you pulling? im guessing with a gsr and a few bolt ons..on the bottle low 13s high 12s if your rt and 60ft are decent

1.8 info please!!!
thanx

A good friend of mine's 93 EX coupe with a stock usdm GSR swap w/ stock GSR trans on 120 shot DP went 12.7 with a JDM 4-1 too..first and only run into teh 12's that day due to some stuff but im sure the car woulda went faster. now think of it in a crx.
Well it all boils down to what route you want to go..Boost, Nitrous, N/A.
I personally would go with a "Poor Mans R" Cheaper than a GSR swap if you take your time to peice it together and would honestly yeild better times and still have a bit of money to **** with.
On the other hand a fairly cheap Z6 swap with a basic T3/T4 turbo set up on slicks would surely garuntee and 12 sec pass especially in a crx.
im really talkin outta my *** right now..im really sleepy and i have school in the morning..figure out what route you wanna go then start from there..actually start with yoru suspension first..theres no use in building or swapping a motor if you can lay the power you put out to the ground. adios and good night all. good luck with your project

Turbocharged B16's don't suck. If it's tuned right, the compression ratio will not be detrimental. I have a stock bottom turbocharged B16 that puts down 390 hp to the wheels and runs 11's. I'll take boost over the bottle.
