I'm currently working on an 92 eg8 sedan and was wondering if you would consider buying a 4dr. The weight differences between the eg6 aren't an issue. from my knowledge 4dr's LX/DX models are lighter than most EX/SI models. It gets really fustrating when somebody tells me that 4dr civics are heavy and I really do want to prove them wrong. well the reason I created is this thread is to ask you guys this. do you guys respect 4drs eg/ek chassis, your reasons and why?

 

i like the 4 door eg but not the 4 door ek. just do a motor swap in your eg8 then when some one tells you your car is heavy show em whats up.

 

4drs are not heavy, they're UGLY

 

i have a 93 4dr and its pretty fast for a sohc turbo but no where as near fast as my 92 hatch

 

I have a eg8 w/ a b16 sir2 swap, I do show people what's up but it's just that.. damn! I NEED MORE POWA!!!..

 

haha there's nothing like whooping someone's *** and having three other friends sitting in there comfortably watching you do it.

I like 4drs, but alot of people over do them because they think that since it's a 4dr, they have to make it into a show car cause it's not supposed to be fast. If they are kept clean and simple, they look just as good as a coupe or hatch.

 

what are you running in the 92 hatch?, sohc turbo isn't going to be my route, I'm pretty sure the most power they make is around 230whp if your lucky? correct?

 

I do keep it clean and simple , I've installed a jdm ferio eg9 front lip, got the jdm bumper w/ parking sensors, jdm eg6 cluster, clock, climate control, plenty.. I just need a paint job and thin side moldings, stanley corners! and I'm all set.



I need another year before I'm happy ;(

 

a FAST 4drs is a nice sleeper though

4drs are a little bit heavier but not by much. ive tried my same motor in a hb and a 4dr, half a second difference in the 1/4 mile

My four door definitely wasn't ugly. Black 4dr eg slammed on Flex's and had full interior swap to black leather w/black GSR dash, JDM ITR motor with LSD. w/GSR brakes front rear on/GSR Blades. You can call it ugly all you want but i looked better than most 4drs i see on the red and most coupes. Not to be concieted, but they can look great when done right.

A Ferio was prolly one of my 2nd choices if I didn't find a decent del Sol...

One word of advice, never ask anyone on H-T for their asthetic opinions, just buy what you like, in the end you're the one driving it.
