Default Battery Light?

Here's the scoop. Ive had my car for a year and no problems. Today, my battery light comes on. I checked everything and it all was tight and good. After driving it a little more, i noticed that in second gear, the light goes off after around 4000 rpm's. Before that it is on. Could anybody help me? Thanks.

you have a multi-meter? you should have at least 14.1 volts on a good charging system, at higher rpm the alt actually shuts off so maybe you have an over charging battery?
