Default LS/VTEC???

When going LS/VTEC if you replace the pistons of the ls block with Type r pistons is it safe to stay with the stock internals of a b16a head or would it be smarter to change out the valvetrain with Type r internals? Also will there be any significat differances between the two valve trains??

i wouldnt suggest putting the ITR pistons in your ls, cuz the ITR has slightly smaller displacement, therefore there would be some slack between the pistons, and the cylinders casing oil consumption, which, in my book, isnt good, but you will be fine with the stock b16 valvetrain, if you have the cash, go with the itr valve train, but otherwise itsa no big deal, later man

I already have a set of CTR pistons but i have heard the compression will be very hight with those pistons....would you suggests gettin ITR pistons or sticking with the CTRs?

You can do either.. but the CTR will give you more compression and might require you to retard your timing a bit to prevent detonation. As far as the valvetrain.. stock will do fine. You dont need to change the valvetrain unless you are planning to rev higher the redline.
