Where to get a harness bar?
Im looking for a harness bar that i can mount my camera on also. Does anyone have one for sale or know where i can get one for my teg? I dont want a full cage just the harness bar.
Check out http://www.ioportracing.com. I am pretty sure Ken sells them.
What car? I have the stable energies bar (same thing ioport sells, as far as i know) for an integra, I used it a couple of times, but its off the car now...Let me know if you're interested....

Are you only using the bar for a camera mount? If you are using it for harnesses as well then I would caution you. The bars IOPort sells are just guide bars. You can't mount the harnesses to them and if you are using the harness for anything more than autocrossing you are just asking for trouble.
El Pollo Diablo- Hit me up with an email at Wesleymalone@hotmail.com and well discuss this some more.
Cobra- the bar is mainly for the camera, while at the same time will be used as a guide not a mounting point for the harness's. I have the harness's mounted to the rear seat buckle, I was told that, in the likely hood of a crash, that mounting point could cause injury. So getting a guide bar would straighten that out.

Ok, first, like Drew said, you are not supposed to actually mount your harness to the bar, its just supposed to be a guide!.. Mount the belts to the rear seat belt mounts.. I would only use one for autox applications, and never without a rollbar on tracks, because like morgan said, you rollover, then your head is the rollbar because you are strapped in and not able to move..
Anyone have pics of that BMW M3 at summit that is smashed..?

That isn't Summit Point. Hell - that isn't even in the U.S. That car was at Nurburgring (it says it on the side of the rollback).
But it IS an M3!!
That bar looks nice and easy enough to take in out and for track events so its not in your way on the street. I think if your going to use a belt attatched to the rear seat on the track, having the guide will at least get the angle right as well as having something to mount a camera on.

Stock belts. The driver and instructor were not seriously injured. They cut the "C" pillars to extract one (or both) of the people, so it looks flatter than it actually was. The instructor's story is at:

They've cleared some trees from the area around T3 over the winter.

Just a little bruised up I believe.. They would have been wearing harnesses, dead for sure, the stock seat belts let you fold into the center of the car..

Autocross = OK.
But you should never put a car on track wearing harnesses without rollover protection. Imagine being tightly pinned upright in your seat in the above BMW? And yes, BMWs have some of the stiffest greenhouses available and this one still crumpled.
Be smart. This is really a matter of common sense.

How is this bar for roll-over protection. Look at the race bar, the second picture.
