Default Flywheel damage

How can a bad or slipping clutch cause flywheel damage...My clutch has been slipping for about 2 months and i dind't know it because thats how i got my car and i don't know a whole lot about cars. If my flywheel is damaged, how much would it cost to get it replaced or resurfaced. And how can i tell if its bad?

When you replace the clutch you should ALWAYS resurface the flywheel. Although if there are any stress cracks in the flywheel it will be dangerous to resurface because it may fly apart. So if there are any cracks you will need to buy a new flywheel.

why WOULD you drive for 2 months with a bad clutch ?
anyways.. yeah the fly could get more woren out then normal with a bad clutch .. but most likly not(depens on have long and the beating..).. check the fly when you open it and se if it looks good with no rills or marks... and that it has not turn all blue like from heat..(not good..)

If there is any bluing (AKA heat checking) the flywheel is junk. The heat has created a hard spot then can be machined but will not wear the same as the rest of the flywheel.

first off i've read on here that d-series cars are slow as hell and second it's the first manual car i've ever been in/driven so i didn't know what a bad clutch is like...now i know.. is the flywheel inside the trans or is it accessable when you take off the trans at the end of the crankshaft? Still a noob w/ cars.

WHAT ThE **** does a slow as hell have 2 do with a bad cltuch !?!..
if clutch bad.. change it ! slow or fast.. faster cars have bigger clutch... slower have.. yes.. smaller !!.. (no flammin or anything.. but that first line is really stupid)

and when you take of the trans.. you will se the pressureplat on the engine.. conne cted with fly.. and inbetwen is the clutch plate.. (the one that is fucked.. for some tiem now

and D seire may not be a fast as a K20 or somthing.. but slow as hell.. arhh.. i dont think so.. slow as **** is a 4000LBS car with a lame V8 doing 160 HP goin 3 miles gallon !...
