just picked up an 88' hatch with a b16 and y1 tranny (no lsd) a mount kit was used but for some reason the hood doesnt clear the valve cover or the strut bar. so i cut out some of the webbing from the hood and now it clears the valve cover but not the strut bar. how close is the 4dr hood to fitting on the car. See, they swapped the "B" in and the hood didnt clear, so they put hood pins on it, poor craftsmanship led to the hood flying open on the freeway and smashing the windshield. so now im rolling around without a hood. also, im going about 170 miles on a half tank of gas, is this normal for a b16 with y1 tranny. im new to the ef style of cars but did have a 92 dx, check my sig. the guy put a 55 shot of zex to it and i beat him by 2 car lengths, so the car definatly jams out.

ive heard of people putting washers on the hinges to get more clearance, i dot know if this would give you enough for the strut bar but you could give it a shot, and im not too sure on the 4dr hood fitting.

The 4D hood doesn't fit on a hatch. It's longer. And yes, 88 hatches 0wN bi5h3s...

 

how much longere is it, cause i got it all back together and the hood latch was missing the hole by about a half inch, would it be about that much?
