the maintenance required light?
It comes on every 7,000 miles, if you do regular oil changes/maintenance on your car, dont worry about it. I reset it every time I change my oil.
Just take your car key, and put it up against the little black "button" to the side of the "light" (its actually a wheel like your odometer, but instead of numbers, its colors" and press down hard. It will feel pretty stiff, but it will pop down, and reset the indicator to green.

that light is ridiculous... just make sure to change your oil/trans fluid/coolant/etc when it needs to be and just keep an eye on everything... if i were you i would just turn it off

Change oil, plugs, wires, PCV valve, and check the cap and rotor to see if they require replacement. Then I would recomend a tranny service. After that it should be good to go.
Note: This is what I do everytime I buy a used car the day I buy it.
