Try Krylons new paint, Fusion. Its made for plastic, and says it wont crack or chip as long as you not knock or bend it for atleast 7 days. NO prep work either. I painted mine during the winter and still no chips or anything. But my interior is also sitting in the garage not being used or touched, maybe if it were in the car it would be a different story. Anyway, its worth the ~3$ a can price if it saves you from buying a SI interior.
The new Krylon paint does work really well, but I have found something really kool to do with my interior. Take some sheets of fiberglass, like the sheets you use when doing body work, some resin, and a sander. Clean each piece very carefully, and then line them with three sheets of fiberglass covering the entire area of the piece. Make sure you put a light coat of resin on the first piece. Let each sheet with resin dry about 15 minutes before you put the next on on. Then, once you have all pieces done, lay them out in the direct sunlight for about 2 hrs. That will allow for complete baking and drying of the resin and will harden the fibersheets to the max. Next, you need to sand the entire piece, first with a rough grit...(I don't remember what grit I used, or I would tell you), then with a fine one. Next, choose your color. Apply three coats for maximum shine and durability. I also hit mine with a clear coat, too. The finished product will look just like a professional showcar, real nice and shiny like the outside of the car. And, it will be hard, too, so there is no chance of breaking or bending them anymore. It also makes all interior panels unstainable, and unable to hold any sort of odor. I am totally thrilled with my work. From, beginning to end, taking each piece out, keeping all screws and mounts, lining, sanding, drying, and reinstalling, took me about 8 hrs and about $100. When you are done, it will be amazing. Also, I do not recommend that you use spray cans, it will look like ****. I used my own air compressor with a Wagner paint gun and paint. Just remember the old sayin, you get what you pay for. If you buy **** paint, and don't sand very good, it won't be worth a ****. Ne-wayz, it is a lil bit of work, but very well worth it. I am the talk of the town with my glossy interior. Good Luck!!

yes, Red and silver DX CRX's and Civic HB's ...Will have black interior....so you dont just have to get Si interior.
Silver HF CRX's also have black interior, and for black doorpanels, the 88 & early '89 model Civic HB's will fit.
The only difference between the DX and HF models with black interior compared to the Si models is you dont get factory Recaro seats.

watch out for std hatchs though (HF crx's maybe too but not positive) they are the same colors but the door panels dont have vinyl on the lower black area and the rear-sides dont have vinyl on them at all. just factory died plastic.

Don't feel bad the guy I bought my CRX from painted the interior some hideous red color, and it's chipping
So my best bet would be to just buy new interior? Anyone know a store that has carbon fiber dash kits/interior?
I love carbon fiber.... mmmmm........

Bleh @ unpainted carbon. it's a material..not a style.
However, check with Nopi.com. If anyone has them, I'm certain they do. Or riceloversplus.com
JKJK, each to their own.
Your other options is to possibly look into a local upholstry shop and see if maybe they can pull something for you. Maybe you can even get a fancy material or something if you're goign that route. Mm...rice-velvet. hehe.
Good luck with whichever your route is though.
