Default who has a 2.5" collector header in a swapped 96-00 civic, and how is it hooked up

I bought a 4-1 header off ebay with a 2.5" collector. It is stainless steel. I'm wondering how everyone else has their header connected to their cat or exhaust, however it may be. I'm trying to figure out how to install this header. I have a 97 ex coupe with ajdm b18c. currently the manifold on the car has a 4" piece welded after the 02 bung, but before the flange. How is everyone elses header hooked to their exhaust. I'm looking to eliminate my cat, and have a smooth flowing exhaust. For your info I have a us length cat, and tanabe racing exhaust.
