anyone know why my b16a1 engine won't mount up in 2 my d16a9's shell. my e-mail adress is jonny_p_18@msn.com

can you state what you're trying to do a little better? d16a9, if my memory states that's what was available in the european 1.6's and wasn't it in rovers, too? (or was that a d16a8?, i'd look it up but it really doesn't matter).
b series engines have different mounts than d series, and not even all d series are the same. for example, an american d16a1 is very similar to a zc, which is very similar to a d16a9, but it used older style mounts. i THINK the d16a9 uses the regular d series mounts, but i'm not sure. that would be another fold in your problem if it didn't.
companies sell mount kits to put them in.
