I need lehmans instructions for checking CEL
Ok so obviously Im new... I was reading the archived section on how to check your computer for a CEL. My car has been giving me a CEL and I think its because Im getting a misfire to my sparkplugs. I have violent shaking in my steering wheel when I accelerate, some put-putting, and my car is taking a few moment EXTRA to start. I've attempted checking the CEL as per the post here in H-T and no luck.
Ive been getting a CEL every day that I come home from work via Highway because once I go past 50mph the CEL comes.
So can someone please post simpler instructions, or atleast fill in the gaps in the archived instructions, like step by step by step on how to read the CEL. It'll save me alot of hassle if i dont have to bring my teg to a shop.
Lookin for H-Ters in the Miami area

the threads at the top have pretty detailed instructions.. what dont you understand?
there is a little jumper connection under the passenger side dash. Get a paperclip and jump this connection.
then i think you turn the key to the on position..
the light should start blinking, the long blinks at first are the first digit and the short beeps are the second digit..
for example:
beeeeeeeeeeep, beeeeeeeeeeep, followed by, beep, beep, beep
thats code 23. Two long beeps followed by 3 short beeps.
edit: that should be blinks, not beeps
