Default Direct Port Nitrous set up on a JDM B16A

I just Swapped a JDM B16A into my Civic and it had a NOS direct port Nitrous system already installed and plumbed. It also included a full throttle switch.
All is wired correctly, fuel is supplied to the solenoid and the Nitrous line is run inside the car to the bottle.
I'm concerned to run it just because I have no info on it at all. I don't know how large of a shot it is, but this system has been run on this engine in it's previous car. Should I just full the bottle and give'r hell?

Since it has a full throttle switch do I just flip the "Go Fast" switch and let'r rip from a get go 1st, 2nd, 3rd.... or do I wait till I shift into 3rd, flip the switch and then we're off.

I've had a previous bad experience on another motor with a single fogger throttle body wet shot set up that went all wrong and threw every rod, that was 4 years ago and I'm a little aprehensive about running nos ever again, but I want to!

Any help would be appreciated...

Not sure how different each no2 kit is but i believe the piranha NX direct port kit starts at a 50hp shot and can go all the way up to a 300hp shot. I'd check your jets first and make sure you're setup for a 50 at first to see how the motor handles it. Then if it seems ok, go up from there if you wish. Hopefully you have the booklet too so you can see which jets go where and which jets are for what shot. Also it would help to have all the jets as well.

afaik the lowest you can do with stock jets is a 100 shot, at least with teh nx kits that i ahve installed they ahve jets in each fogger, making it a 25 shot per port.

I'm not so concerned about that because regardless of the shot, It worked fine as it is in the previous car.
But, how do I SAFELY go about using it?

determine what size shot is in it. adjust timing to the sepcs the nitrous manufacturer recommends, put the proper heat range plugs in and test it out....

Ok, perhaps I'm not being clear.
Picture this...you pop the hood of a 94 Civic, look inside and it's got a JDM B16A second gen with Direct Port Nitrous...It's been run down the track and it pulls 12's.
Now, You pull the motor leaving most everyhting the way it is (don't move the distributor) and drop it into a 98 Civic.
So it obviously works fine regardless of the size of jets. Timing is as it should be, plugs as well, because it WORKED fine before.

My question is...now here's the tricky part.....
Exactly HOW do you use it! When do you engage it...
THAT'S IT!!!

well me persoanlly i dont beleive what is in a car until i see it myself. do you trust the person that sold you the engine with $2000 in cash? if so then just go run it. if it blows up oh well right? its not like its that important to know what it actually is right?

i persoanlly would run it in second gear at higher than 3000rpm and DO NOT HIT THE REV LIMITER!
play with it some and see how it goes.

You arm the sonofabitch and jam on the gas. At wot it will spray. Simple enough.

^^^like he said. I would recommend taking one of the jets out though and seeing what you are running. Who knows how big of a dumbass the last owner was. For all you know the jets are wrong. But its your money. And BTW, you dont know if the timing was retarded properly or not....might give that a check for safety

it will say what size jet is in there. the size of the fuel jet and the size of the nitrous jet determine what horsepower rating the shot is. in the case of a direct port you will see what nitrous and fuel jets are in each port Or you can look at one and assume the others are trhe same. so if you check one port and see 2 jets that make up for a 20 shot, you would then either count the rest or assume the others ar a 20 shot and 20x4=80
