Default GSR swap What should I set vtec at?

I have a stock gsr swapped into my hatch and I have a p30 ecu. I wanted to know what I should set my vtec at to get optimal power. I heard that i should set it at like 4600 or so and i have heard 5400. So I dont know for sure what would be best for my motor.

Well I have set mine at 4500 because on the dyno it showed to make a nice crossover point. Alot of people thing higher is better becuase it sounds better and "hits" harder but you are losing power up until it engages that is why it seems to "hit" harder. If you do not have a dyno, and don't have many mods (only i/h/e)I say like 5000 is good maybe 4800. You really should get it tuned otherwise you are just guessing at the best performace.

Yeah I am not planning on tuning a stock gsr to gain 2hp and find the best vtec spot its not worth the money for that little bit. Does anyone else have any suggestions on where to set the vtec?

You could try street tuning it. Set it at 4400, drive it, set it at 4500, drive it and keep going up and down until you find a spot that you like.

on the dyno mine was best set at 4200 with I/H/E
it did not feel like it but i could not argue with the dyno
