i just bought a ebay muffler for 30 bucks. could someone tell me what they are like if u have bought one. i have no muffler and no cat. i want to silence my car a lot. it is just to loud. do they actually work. and do they hold up for a long time. it is just temparary until i get a thermal r&d exhuast.

 

My guess is that it will be loud, will sound like poop, and won't last you very long.

Get a Dynomax super turbo for $35 from Advance auto

 

but it wont be as loud right. it should make it a little quieter. it will still sound better then it does now. it sounds like complete crap right now.

 

i just ogt my muffler off ebay for $57 i did 2 1/4 piping and it sounds great its not really that loud andit has a nice tone to it when you bring your rpm's high. i did it 3 days ago and havent stopped getting compliments since.

 

I had a Thermal on my CRX with B16 and it was just too quiet. So I took it off from the axle back so I still have the nice stainless mandrel bent from the cat to the rear wheel. Then I had a custom muffler shop make some piping to go up to the eBay fartpipe I got. Sounds very good. But keep in mind that I have the big Thermal resonator on there still too.

without a cat the car will usually be loud no matter what...but the muffler will quiet it down a little.

 

it will be quieter than a straight pipe
