SiR rear brake question
I just ordered a set of SIR rear discs to do a rear disc conversion and I have a question. Does anyone know what pads and rotors I will need to order for these? Are they the same as an 92-95 ex/si or are they different? Also does anyone know if the SiR front brake setup is larger than the 95 dx hatch brakes?

you can either use 92-95 ex/si pads or 90-01 integras which are the same. the difference between the sir front brake setup and 95 dx hatch is the caliper brand name: nissin and the size of the rotor.

All 88-00 integras, civics, CRXs and del sols (except Integra/Civic Type R) use the same rear disc brakes. It doesn't matter which rotors or pads you get...
The SIR NON ABS front brakes are identicle to the 93-94 EX 2dr, 99-00 Si 2dr, 94 Del Sol VTEC (all NON ABS of course). Both the calipers and rotors are larger (10.2") than the regular (9.4") civic front brakes. The larger SIR calipers require a larger 7/8" master cylinder to match (regular civic is 13/16"). If you have a 92-95 civic, you can get that MC from any Non ABS 93-95 EX 2dr, or a 94 only Del Sol VTEC (it bolts right onto your existing booster).
Something worth noting is that you will pay a premium for SIR/EX front brake pads. Even though they are smaller than Integra brake pads, they cost about $20 more. I suggest you get Integra front brakes, and a 15/16" master cylinder from a 91 civic EX 4dr (it will bolt directly on too). The integra brakes have a slightly larger piston, but are externally identical to the SIR brakes....
Good luck.

you can either use the 15/16 or 7/8. Also you can keep the 40/30 prop valve but it is not required but recommend to get at least the 40/40 prop valve.
I have the 7/8 MC w/ 40/30 prop valve and rear disc for almost 4 yrs now and no issues.

IF YOU KEEP YOUR STOCK FRONT BRAKES, YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE YOUR MASTER CYLINDER.
The 92-95 Si has a small 13/16" master cylinder with rear disc brakes (and so do I), and you don't hear anybody complaining about that. If you hear people talk about a mushy pedal after a rear disc swap, it is because they failed to bleed all the air out of their brake system. When you do a rear disc swap, the only thing you need to change out is your proportioning valve (and even that isn't absoloutly necissary according to some).
