well, when i applied here, i had 8 years hands on experience (freelance work), and an associate computer networking degree from i.t.t. tech. (24k.. for 2 years of school.
)
i went to i.t.t. hoping to be impressed, if anything i was bored.
i never opened a book. and passed every class, i never even showed up half the time. the only class i had problem with was college algebra II, its basicaly advance trig. it was horrible, and im horrible at math. i ended up taking that on saturdays while i finished up my final quarter... anyways.
the reason i got my position, is cause my friend jorge worked here, its all about connections. i ended up getting my associate, which got me my internship here over all the other applicants, no other applicants had a degree, i was the only one! in fact, im one of two people in the tech area that have an actual degree, alot of my co-workers have a crapload of cert's and experience, but NO degree's.
in the i.t. world degree's dont mean jackshit unless your going beyond the basic i.t. stuff. if your looking to be an admin, get a degree, and get it fast. if you dont have a degree and you want to be an admin, the only way your going to get hired on is by domino effect.
if anything, get your a+, that **** is CAKE. that is just as good as an associate degree, but id get all the certs you can, those open a lot more doors.
