Exhaust/Muffler question
2000 Civic EX coupe
Over the past week my friend noticed her exhaust note has become louder. So she brought it into the dealer to get it fixed. They told her she needed to replace the muffler and a "pipe." They didn't specify whether its a b-pipe, a-pipe or whatnot. They want about $800 total to replace the muffler and a "pipe." I think her muffler is probably punctured so I wanted to see if you guys knew what I needed to purchase to replace the rear muffler. Provide part numbers and price if you can. Thanks a lot.
P.S. If I purchase the muffler from the dealer it'll come with the axle back piping right?

hey if it truly is just the muffler then all u need to do is have a pipe cutter or hacksaw (if its the only thing available) and cut off just behind the axle measure the diameter of the pipe then go to an auto parts store and buy the appropriate muffler , pipe clamps and some piping to fit ur application
man you're stupid as **** if you do it at dealer.. take it to muffler shop tell them to lift it up and find the leak, then tell them to fix it... should cost more than $100... and even if you get a killer exhaust most probably $400
