What exactly does the high idle thermo control valve do on the d16z6 cause i was lookin to swap to a b18a1 tb and it doesnt have that. wouldnt that mean that the b18 tb would have coolant running through it at all time and the z6 tb stops coolant flow after the engine is warmed up enough?

 

um ne1 know what i'm talkin about?

 

if we are thinking of the same thing it makes your car idle higher until it fully warms up.

 

thats what i thought it does but doesnt it also run coolant through it to warm the air charge until it is warmed up then stop the flow of coolant?

 

yea coolant goes through it but it doesnt warm up the air. it sences the coolant temp and tells the car what to idle at.
