Anyone with HID's please respond
i have heard stories from a few people about the 9006 HID bulbs lasting for only a few months because they are re-manufactured. i would like to buy the phillips kit, BUT will not if the bulbs are crap and do no last. if you would please post how long you have had your HID's and if your bulbs have burnt out. only the 9006's HID's. thanks
It depends on the kit. Some "Philips" kits (this is how it was explained to me) include the Philips balasts (sp?) but poo pooy bulbs. You want to get a kit with actual Philips bulbs or just osme good quality bulbs. IMO, it doesn't pay to get HID kits from someone you don't know or don't trust. And remember you get what you pay for.
currently i am running BMW M5 HID's in my car with the M5 ballasts. they kick *** but you have to super glue the bulbs in every once in a while to keep them in tight. i want to get the 9006's because they fit like factory, BUT have heard that they burn out quickly because they are re-manufactured, by phillips, to fit a 9006 housing.
I heard the philips kits use philips parts - the base of the bulbs is remanufactured to fit the specific (retro-fit) housing. and yes most kits will come with schitty bulbs. Philips does not make the retrofit kits -they supply some of the parts (bulbs - sometimes, ballast etc....)
I've had mine for at least 6 months. No problems with the bulbs... but I had to secure some wires running to the ballast to stop it from flickering on really rough roads. (construction zones + ITR suspension = very rough.) However, no more of that problem since the wire was wrapped/secrued tightly.

hey I got a quick question. My friend that works at acura has just recently got some HID's from the CL, TL, and RL models. He said that he would sell them to me for $150. The question is will these fit my car???

yes it is very easy as i have done it. you need a multitester and some epoxy and some small guage wire in black and red. total cost is about 10.00 if you have the multi tester. install time was about 20minutes or so. its really easy
I've had the Phillips kit for a year now with no problems since install. The set of bulbs I got with the kit didn't fit right, though, so I had to buy a different set... for some reason they wouldn't give me the projector bulbs with the kit and the one they did give me didn;t fit right

S2000 HID's would be a better choice, IMO. Since they were designed to be used with a projector lens. And I'm also pretty sure that you can't use aftermarket bulbs with the OEM Honda ballasts/equipment. But for $150, not a bad price.
I have the philip's ballast and philip's bulbs. I got them around April of last year. Almost a year now and they seem fine.
same here........ working good.. BTW.. I drive my Car almost Every nIght too + long trips back home to Cupertino , CA ( up North) from LA.
The Philips kits are good for the money..

As long as you have a D2S bulb you are fine as it is the D2S for projector lenses. So ones from an S2000 or any Bimmer will be fine. You can use aftermarket bulbs for the most part...they will all plug into the ballast, BUT some are harder to retro fit into the headlight housing (Phillips bulbs are easy...Osram bulbs are much harder) as construction varies a bit from one manufacter to another.
Look at the pic on the link (as I don't know how to use clubphoto)...On the left is an old skool Osram bulb....next is an new Osram bulb...next is a modded Osram to fit 9006(still working on it)...next is a stock Phillips bulb, last is a 1/2 done Phillips(still have to put a ring on it).
