Another Poll !!!!!!!!!!!! GSXR vs. R1
I currently ride a CBR f3 and thinking about moving up to a bigger bike. I can't decided between a GSXR 750, 1000 Or a yamaha R1. I have seen lots of people on this forum with CBR's and GSXR's but not to many R1's. I have always loved the R1's and GSXR's are nice also. What do yall think?
i have personally been looking for an r1 to replace my r6...
most people are buying the gsxr 1000 .. (160 hp) (374 lb dry weight)
compared to the r1 (150 hp) (370 lb dry weight)
havn't ridden a gixxer 1K .. but the r1 is a bad *** toy.. so the 1k must be insane.
good luck w/ your choice.. either way the f3 is a joke compared to these bikes.. make sure you can handle the difference.. ( i had an f2 f4 and now an r6) might as well put training wheels on these compared ..
hope this helps.

i never really liked the r1 until the current 04-05, and i always loved the gsxr til the 05. so if your not buying new i'd say get an 03 1k. they are sick. if your buying new get an r1
buddy has an r1 and its absolutely amazing. i dont like the exhausts on the gsxr 1000. can't say anythin about the gsxr, but just wow to the r1.
either way, good luck and let us know what you good foo'

i've been lucky enough to ride both these bikes 05 gsxr 1000, and the 05 r1, they are both powerful and fast, i dont think ill be able to push these bikes to their limits to see their differences. i voted r1 because the undertail is sleek and it just looks better then the 05 gsxr 1000.
thanks everyone still haven't decided yet. I'm switching jobs so after thats done i will be in the market. I love both the bikes. My descion will probably be based on what ever one i can find for a better deal since i'm gonna buy one used.
But does anyone know which bike is built better. I know if depends on if the bike has been taken care of and all but i didn't know if either of them were famous for something going wrong. I'll probably being being one that is an 2001 or up.

Ive never liked the gsxr's. I would go with the R1. I rode a 1000rr today and it was unbelieveable. Then i jumped back on my 600 and it felt like a piece of ****. I thought the 1000rr's were faster then the new gixxers. According to that graph they shouldnt be.

Honda's RR lineup shouldn't be going through any serious changes until 07..They do something slightly different but they will be getting a complete makeover in 2007..I'm sick of hearing about Gixxers and R1's..I think alot of people just remember those ones easier and they think it sounds good to say it..Kinda like back in the day everone just new the Kawi's as NINJA's.Haha I read on someones sig here "Squids love the RSIX"..It's so true.
You need to specify new or used.....cuz my vote would vary between the (2).

R1 FOR LOOKS BUT AS THE DYNO SHOWS THE GIXXER HAND THE R1'S *** TO IT.

even though ive never ridden either bike, i know they are both fast as hell and have way too much power for the beginer<----
so i based it on what ive heard and the overall look of the bike and i think the R1 definatly takes it
