Any one with this same ballast? if so please help me. Where the heck do i mount this thing? Also i drive an 01 integra gsr if that helps.

I would say maybe down in the bumper, but i odnt htink your lead is long enough

 

I would say along the fender or some flat surface that doesn't move.

I would try hooking it up first to see what you have to play with.

You might end up having to splice if nothing is availble

 

yea its quite big but does anyone have any good suggestions? I mean im willing to take the risk just to install these. someone help please~

 

I would try to find a neat lil spot in the engine bay ( if possible ) that's out of the way of everything else....so as long as the finished install will look clean and not give too much of a "cluttered" appearance. There's also some people who will say to take the fenders off and mount those ballasts ( if possible through splicing some longer wires ) somewhere inside or above the fender well lining. Whichever way you choose....good luck

It looks like what ever that came off of, it was mounted on the back of the housing. how long is the D2S/D2R bulb holder cable/wire? it doesnt look like it is very long. did you do the HID projector retrofit yet? to tell you the truth, do the E55 HID projector retrofit with "Hella" brand ballasts, alot easier to mount and run the main D2S/D2R wire to the projector. just look up "Hella ballast" or "HID ballast", and "E55" projector on Ebay for pics. this is the set up I have on my car, a 2000 Integra.

 

yea the cable isnt that long. its about 5 inches long. Also I dont think ill be doing a retrofit,i already have the bulb and everything. All i need is some advice on where and how i whould mount this.

 

either stick it on the bumper or inside the fender. I think you're gonna have to splice and lengthen the ballast to bulb wires. Make sure to use heavy guage wires that can support the high voltage.

 

be creative! my ballast is WAY bigger than that and i found some spots to place them. one is under the abs and the other is zip tied by the headlight. youll find a place for it trust me

yeah please update us, retrofiting is becoming more popular. this way people can see where you mounted the ballasts

the e55 projectors are just "okay"
cutoff isnt that sharp compared to others and beam spread (width) isn't up to par with alot of other projectors.

Look into a tsx, s2k, something along those lines.

 

as the guy said above, zip ties may work.. I also wrapped my ballast in electrical tape so water doesnt destroy them

 

just curious, but what car is that ballast/hid system from? i've never seen one like that.

 

this hid ballast came off a euro accord type R

 

Don't rig it! I don't know how large it is exactly, but there is some room next to the ABS in the right front of the engine compartment. I installed my air horn compressor there. I would have to look at it to give you some ideas. You just have to be creative and innovative. You'd be surprised at the ideas you can come up with. If you are in SF, pm me and I can look at it and maybe give you an idea.

i wrapped my ballasts with old inner tube from a tire, this keeps it from getting wet

cant do the fender, like my ballasts, the cable isnt long enought to place it anywhere in the fenders

 

mount it to any flat surface, near the fender or behind the headlamp if you have room
