Default HELP! Is this too good to be true?

I have been looking into getting a 600RR for about a month as my first bike. I've been snooping around the classifieds all over but I just came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AIT

This is exactly what I want (make, color scheme, etc.) and the guy lives 20 minutes from me to boot! The only thing that catches my attention is that the price seems awful low! I just emailed him asking the following questions:

1. Has the bike ever been dropped? (Is there any damage on it?)
2. How does the bike run? (The condition of the motor)
3. Exactly how many miles are on it? (The picture says 6,407 but you claim 3,400)
3. Is there anything I should know about it? 4. Why are you selling?

Is there anything that I'm missing here? Please help me out guys! Any input is appreciated!

If he lives so close, get in touch with him and see if it is legit. Check it out and bring someone who has been around and knows their **** about bikes so they can give a second opinion.

Definitely a scam, because look at all previous transactions. They've all included food utilities.

Yep, I agree. I would never buy it unless I went there to check it out with a couple of my buddies who are knowledgable about bikes

Dude...unless you've changed the way you drive, I don't recommend a 600RR for your first bike.

(My ride with slick GS-R was the scariest of my entire life)

There's a bunch of low-priced 'Buy It Now' bikes that look like scams including a black 1000RR.

Somehow people just dont seem to learn. A perfect bike for 5 grand under what it usually sells for. Not gonna happen in America.

Theres MULTIPLE scams like this, notice 0 bids. He most likely has the EMAIL seller prior to bidding option. They will always then send you the email saying HI, ect. ect. the bike is in germany, and than the reason, and how cheap you can get it!
Such a scam its sad.

Anthony, in all seriousness here, if the guy makes even one mention of an escrow service or a third-party service like "PaySafe" or whatever the hell it is, stay far away.

Survey says: Go see it in person

otherwise that's far too good to be true.

His response to my email:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Seller &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Hi,
I deposited the bike to the eBay's warehouse cause I'm not in the States and I don't have anyone to take care of this transaction.I think this is the best way to close the deal, cause the bike will be shipped by ebay at my expence. In this way,the buyer will have the insurance that he will receive what he paying for.The bike will be shipped after the payment is confirmed.BIN for 2800.

It is in perfect conditions,no scratches, no dings or other damages. the title is clear, it is not a salvage one. The title and all papers and documents will come with the bike.

If you are interested to continue the deal with me please tell me and I will contact ebay to send you a notification and confirm you that the bike is in their warehouse,in perfect condition. Anyway, if you have the cash and you are decided to buy, please email your full name and address for shipping purposes so we can get on with it .

Please tell me your final decision.Hope we'll do business.

Greetings!
Antony
