Default So i finally take apart the B16

Finally "started" on my swap. Actually I've had my B16 for nearly 2 years just sitting there. Then this summer the CRX breaks so I tell myself I'm gonna do it soon.

Fast forward to today, I started working on it and got down the intake manifold, head and block, as far as major peices are concerned.

I'm slightly worried but not too much. Cams look good. The head gasket actually came off with ease as if it was pretty new. But then there's a good amount of carbon on the top of the pistons.

What really had me worried was that all the valves look fine, but the one closest to the distributor. The combustion chamber/area around it looks more sooty.

My guess is it's not too fresh of a motor, head gasket has probably been changed. Drop the oil pan and GROSS. Looks like chocolate milk. But I manually turned the crank by hand before when it was all together and everything felt right. Perhaps just from sitting in a junkyard, then my garage for a long time allowing everything to accumulate.

well that's my rambling, i'm going to bed.
