Like the title says, I ran my car at LACR, A HIGH ALTITUDE TRACK ,today and I did pretty good. The timeslip came out light as hell, but here is what it says...
60 Ft: 2.339
I2: 6.388
I3: 9.777
I3 Mph: 72.540
I4: 12.634
ET: 15.206
MPH: 90.406
All that I have done to the car are basic mods like Intake, header, exhaust, no cat, untuned uberdata, ctr cams... I just went to the track to get a baseline # to see what difference mods make, etc... Im guessing with the intake manifold that I bought, and dyno tuning, I should be able to knock out a 14.5-14.7...
Whadaya think?

you got 15.2et@90mph w/ those mods listed... i think you could have done better though... maybe somewhere in the range of 14.7 already, but that's just me...
after you get it tuned(assuming you have the new mani in already), most definately you will reach your goals of 14.5-14.7et.
although, i do think it's your 60ft. that is killing you.

not to be negative here, but i ran my LS with intake header and exhaust to a 15.4 @ 89
try some testing a tuning while at the track, let pressure out of your tires etc.
you should be pulling better times, although the cams may be making your times worse than better.. get it tuned and put the IM on and see what you can do.. where is your launch point? i launched at 3000rpm. good luck

Well if I were at a sea level track I would have seen about .4 tenths faster.. All the local socal people that go to LACR will vouch that you run like crap up there. Just to give you an idea, A 99 coupe with a modded b16 (Ctr cams, Ctr ecu, type r intake manifold, type r throttle body, type r header, full exhaust, cold air, falken azenis, etc..) could only pull a 15.7...
to high altitude...
No, my intake mani isn't installed yet...
And I am also running on untuned uberdata. The guy I bought my car from tried to do his own tune and it sucks. The vtec comes on way to early (4400 for both) and he gave it way too much fuel.
And yes, my 60ft sucked. I couldn't get a good launch out of the thing.. It wheel-hopped like crazy.
All in all... I think I did pretty good considering the conditions. I hope a socal person comes in to verify.

Its an ok time, but I pulled a 15.5 in my 91 GS with short ram, and cat-back. Get it tuned and it should easily reach your goals.
LACR elevation 2780ft
Las Vegas elevation 2,174ft
the times people hit at lacr is depressing to most.. and the track isnt all that great either.. don't feel discouraged.. ur doin good..
and as a comparison.. gsr's with i/h/e usually run 16.4's.. prelude i/h/e run 15.9's

dude.. i will point out for the last time that IT WAS AT A HIGH ALTITUDE TRACK.. where there is a .5 second difference. And show me a simply modded LS that will hit somewhere near that time at a high altitude track..

Are you guys friggin kidding me??
Remember that I am untuned... I'm using stock camgears, and I was high as hell above sea level.. I'd like to see someone pull a better time in my car, or a similarly modified car, then that.

You people obviously aren't listening...the track is at almost 3000 feet in elevation. On an NA engine that'll slow a car anywhere frm 3/10ths to 6/10ths of a second in the quarter. Do the math...at sea level he'd probably already be at 14.7 or so. Sounds like a pretty damn good time to me.
Anyone ever drive up into the mountains to about 10,000ft and notice that your car is slow as ****? Well, that's what altitude does to your engine...it's like a natural anti-supercharger (effectively, it lowers your compression ratio)... which leaves you with less power!

You have to understand that most people on here don't read the rest of the thread and are just to eager to hit that reply button to provide you with their input, regardless if it's been answered or explained already.
And that's pretty decent for your mods. Try to get your 60ft's down.
