5 Days gone,Hatch still dead!
I've replaced the cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs and tomorrow I'm replacing the fuel filter.I've checked oil, anti freeze, water and gas.I've reset my ECU, it's flashing code 1(which is suppose to mean oxygen sensor)? Besides replacing my timing belt, I don't know what else to do?At first my car would crank, idle up then drop to almost a stall.Give it gas and it stalled.(sounded like I was choking it)Cranked it up and it repeated the same thing, except it died with out giving it gas.Now it won't crank up at all.It cranks but won't turn over.I'm running out of things to do.Some one said something about the O2 sensor.Where is it located and how do I check it?
I'm open for any suggestions.

o2 sensor is on the exhaust manifold. You can just buy a new one for like 20 bucks at autozone, the universal one, where you splice the wire, not hard at all. Getting hte O2 sensor out is a bitch though.
Take the heat shield off of your exhaust manifold and you will see a wire going into the collector tubes, the thingy on the end is the O2 sensor. Took about 2 minutes to get those parts out. But it might have been tougher with the radiator in the way (mine was out at the time) Still no more than 30 mins.
The car will run with or without a working o2 sensor. Don't mess with that until you get the other problems fixed up.
You have something wrong with either fuel or spark.
Are you using an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? Put a stocker on the fuel reail and see what happens.
Is there a vacuum sourse for the FPR? Make sure all the vacuum lines are good.
Is there a vacuum line going to the Map ensor on the firewall? This could definitely cause issues.
Hope this helps.

sorry i havent been around to help you out again. ive been at work or messed up on Nyquil. we already went over the basic. and remember that we know it has something to do with spark. we're you able to ground the plugs and see if they were firing? I wouldnt worry to much about your fuel filter. Its possible your ignitor or coil went out. and did you turn the idle adjustment screw up. i really doubt thats the problem but that will cause other issues if its too low. One last thing remember that if you keep trying to start it and you've replaced those plugs. if they get to much fuel you'll fowl them out again. keep checking those. and run to autozone or wherever and get the haynes manual for your car ( the greyish green book ) that'll help you locate different thingpoo poo me up later this afternoon i should be home.
and remeber the worst thing that could happen is your going to learn a lot more about your car than you thought.

ok its a std or so i heard right? if it is u still have teh dpfi im guessing here. see if ur getting spark first u dont really need to ground the plugs u just need to take the plug wire off the plug about an inch away and see if u see spark in the hole. but u said it ran but would just die so im guessing u do have spark. if u have spark ur fuel pump may be on its way did u change it at all. it could also be the eacv on the side of the intake manifold on a std or dx wut ever and on th back of the intake manifold on a si but i was told ur car is a std. change that it could be it it could also be teh fuel not getting there try and see if ur getting fuel if u cant get a gauge just crack teh line a really tiny bit. u didnt happen to drive it to empty did u? but it sounds as if ur not getting fuel pressure its probably teh pump my guess. kinda happend to me at the track a while back btu it wasnt getting power to the pump. any more info on ur problem may help also
