This is the first trip I'm making to the accord forum and I really don't know crap about them. A friend of mine has a 00 accord v6 and has a weird problem with the dash lights. When driving and the engine reaches 4k rpm, (possible vtec crossover?) the battery light and pretty much every other light in the dash comes on as if the key were in the on position before the car was started. Once the engine rpm's go below 4k, everything goes back to normal. What the hell is going on with it? I have no idea and any help is appreciated... thanks

I don't have a magical answer for you, but I have seen others report that dash lights going crazy is a symptom of a bad alternator. Should be easy enough to have it tested at Sears or some place comparable...

Usually when they are bad they will make a high pitched whine.

 

Thanks for the suggestion... I was hoping it was a more common problem among accords but I guess not. Anyone else have any ideas?
