Hey I want to look at my fuel filter on my 87 Accord, 124k miles and I don't think it's ever been changed. Take a look at the link and look at the number 3 part where it goes down into. It looks like the fuel tank?

Yep it is. I just saw another diagram of the same thing.

 

woo hold on there boys and girls ,,the fuel filter doen not go inside the tank,,,# 3 is the gasket for the fuel pump # 5 which goes inside the tank ,,,the fuel filter # 1 is inside # 2 which is held on by 2 10mm bolts # 8 ,,
this is what you do to replace filter, first remove gas cap to relieve pressure or you will have fuel all over the place , remove the 2 # 8 bolts, remove hoses # 12 and # 13 from the filter , replace filter ,,fuel filter is directional so make sure to pay attention how it comes out
