is there a difference between 97 and 01 gsr cams?

I always thought the 94-01 GSR cams are ALL the same...please correct me if i'm wrong. No smog issues what so ever..people smog with itr/ctr/skunk2/jun/etc cams

its not that i had an option...i bought a head w/o cams and this guy is selling me his cams off his 01 gsr and i was wondering what the differences (if any) were

 

This is the first time I have heard that there is a difference in gsr cams between the years.

 

I think all the US cams are the same.. someone told me that the jdm ones are slightly more agressive, but I doubt it. I've also heard that the rare automatic gsr cams are more agressive, but I doubt there is any truth to that rumor either. I think all of em are all the same.

 

jdm cams are the same as usdm

 

to answer your question...

the 00-01 cams have a little bit higher of a lift but less duration. this is why the newers hondas are called ULEV(ultra low emession vehicle), they have a higher lift to let in more air/fuel... but less durtion to shorten the time.

the 94-99 cams have more duration but less lift.

i would prefer the 94-99 cams.
