Default Nissan Wheels on Civic

My friend bought new rims for his NX2000. Out of pity (I have stock Honda hubcaps ) he is willing to give me his stock Nissan rims. We tried one on and it fits but the center bore is smaller than the wheel's center hole, so it doesn't seem to sit well on it. I didn't test drive it because I wasn't sure if it was safe. Does anyone know of a safe and hopefully inexpensive way to deal with this? Or can it even be done? Thanks in advance.

dont do it, the stock honda rims look nicer than mismatched rims...might as well get a mustang cross logo thingy and slap it on the fenders?

I believe JDMLifestyles put Miata rims on his hatch. And his ride is wicked-awesome.

I believe he just slapped it on a drill press, made the center hole larger, and flat-blacked them (PM him and find out).
Find someone willing to let you use there drill-press. or take it to a machine shop and have them do it, it cant be too expensive.

Well, it's the opposite actually. The rims bore is too big. I was wondering if there were spacers or something like that I could use.

This is what it looks like, I forgot to take a close-up picture though

I dont think I understand what you mean. See if you can get some close-ups... or try to better explain it in words.

The center-bore is about 1/4 in smaller than the center-hole of the Nissan wheel. Usually with Honda rims it fits snuggly on it, but with the Nissan wheel there's almost 1/4 in of free space around the center-bore. It seems only the bolts are supporting the entire wheel, know what I mean? The bolt pattern is correct but the wheel doesn't seem to hold too strongly.

Just means it'll be lug-centric, instead of hub-centric like the honda wheels are. Get the proper lugs for the wheels (I think Nissan uses cone lugs), and snug them up while the car is in the air. This will center the wheel to the bolt pattern; then drop the car and torque them on.

It does'nt even look good let alone the hassle for "making it fit" ......keep the hub caps lower the car 1" to 2" and you will be shocked how good just the caps will look until you can afford some better rims that will fit your HONDA!!

I realise what he's saying. If you have a rim with a bigger hub opening than the hub around the axle nut, you can still use the rims.

The rim will be centered to the axle by the lugs, as opposed to the hub itself. I use VW rims for my snows that have a larger hub opening than Honda wheels, and they've worked fine for years; as long as you center them properly.

Then re-read the thread question because he didn't ask or care about how you felt they looked on his car.

What the ****? Idiotic comments everywhere.

Bottom line is the god damn wheels will be fine if you like them. They're just lugcentric on your car instead of hubcentric. It's no big deal as long as you properly torque the lugs on in the right sequence.

Jesus.

IF they aren't 73mm bore, don't do it. Keep your stock wheel covers, those look worse.

P.S. Nissan sucks, they owned by the french.

P.P.S. If the bore is too small, and they don't fit on all the way, the rim may not sit flush on the hub, making the car unsafe. Don't do it if it doesnt sit flush and round.

ya dont do it if the bore is bigger. i spent hours making sure that the bore was perfect on the miata rims. they are just a hair over but they are still HUB centric.

BTW there Powder coated black

Hey thanks for the comments, even the stupid ones. I realize they're not the prettiest rims but they're way better than the hubcaps IMO. Plus he has crazy tires (on those rims and also on his autoX rims). But if it's unsafe I'm just gonna keep my hubcaps. It's no biggie. I'll stick with my crappy 4-season Tiger Paws, until I can afford a set of Azenis or something.
