I am swapping out a locked up motor for a friend ( from 2000 y8 to a 2000 y8).

The Dist. plug is different from the two motors, when its should be the same motor! (both 00 y8's)

The wire harness side plug had a 8 pin plug, but on the motor side(dist side) had a 9 pin plug?????

The Dist it self looks the same to me....Any of you guys seen this problem in the past?

please give me some input.

Buy a Helms then turn to the ignition section. You'll see that 96-98 Civic's used the 9-pin distributor.
