Exhaust Question
So I'm thinking about getting a new exhaust system for my car. I want something on the quieter side, but I'm not sure what to get. I have an 88 civic sedan for starters. I've been really looking at the Thermal Classic system, which they do make for the sedan. But the one I really like is the RS*R Ex-mag system. It's fricken sweet, and supposed to be really quiet. But they only make it for the hatch. I've heard that it's pretty easy to make the hatch exhaust fit the sedan though.
So that's my question, could I take the RS*R cat back exhaust system to an exhaust shop and have them adapt it to fit? I've heard that you only need to extend the straight section about 12 inches to get it to fit. So couldn't the muffler shop make a piece of pipe with flanges on each side to bolt up to the cat and the short end of the RS*R? That way they wouldn't have to cut my $500 exhaust system!

Yeah, do you think they would have flanges like that at an exhaust shop, or is this going to be a complete pain in the ***. Plus where would I get the gaskets? I guess I could call up RS*R and ask for two more gaskets that go between the cat and the piping.
yeah the muffler shop should have em...if not try a different one they will most likely have exactly what u need...just get em from honda...or a car parts store i guess
I guess I could just got to NAPA and get the stock gaskets. Well, ****, you guys solved my problems. Thanks.
Has anybody done this before? Not necessarily with the RS*R, but any exhaust system? I just want to make sure it is just an extension on the straight peice and not in the bent part or something. Because if the bend needs to be modified, I'm just going to get the Thermal and call it a day.

Nobody has adapted the hatch exhaust for the Sedans? I was thinking it would work, but won't the tip be a little to short as well, since the trunk on the sedans are a little longer than the hatch.

i also have an exhaust question
since they dont have emission testing in minnesota, a guy told me to just do a header to a 2.5 inch pipe to the back axle and thats it. and he said thats going to be loud as **** when u get on it. im wondering how loud that would be, its going to be on a b16, in a ef9
if its too loud, i was thinkikng of the apexi n1 exhaust system
let me know, thx
