Intake problems
Ok.. i installed my short ram intake yesterday on my 91 std... the problem is, what i think is a vacuum line... is way too close to the pipe. not sure what this part is but its the part that runs from the valve cover to the intake pipe... and it is connected to another line that goes to the intake manifold.. anyone else have this problem and if so... what did u do to fix it? thanks!
We need pics so we can be more helpful. I know the vacuum lines you are talking about but what is the problem? It is kind of unclear what your exact problem is.
the one that runs from the valve cover is hitting my pipe.. and sry but my comp. is out of service at the moment so i have no way of gettin u pics.. ill try later on.. thanks!

The hose that runs from the valve cover to the intake pipe should be hooked up, it sucks all the gases out of the valve cover. You can just throw a filter on the Valve cover and plug the hole on the intake but whats the point? The other line is not a vacuum line it is a coolant line from the head to th TB. Leave this line alone or if you don't want the metal piece there you can remove the whole line from the head to the TB anfd replace it with some 3/8 heater hose with some hose clamps. If it is still too ugly throw some coloured wire loom over the hose.
Hope this helps, any other questions just post.

The intake kit should have come with a hose, but if not then you can use any 1/2" standard vacuum hose, or heater hose will definately work aswell. (If I remember correctly it is 1/2" but you may want to double check that).

Definately won't hurt anything to run two individual lines but just make sure that the coolant line is secured with hose clamps. The vacuum line should hold fine without clamps as long as it is a snug fit. That piece of metal they have on the stock line is ugly as hell and that black crap they have around it usually crumbles and flakes too. I think all that metal piece does is heat the vacuum line so it doesn't get clogged with residue from the valve cover gases. But that is designed for the honda engine that will run for 300k and might some day develop a clog in the line. Anyhow you wont have any problems this I am sure. Go with it.
Hope ya get er figured.
