89 integ motor and tranny
will and 89 integ motor and tranny fit in an g4 body and what`s the diff from a 89 integ and a zc motor just wondering becuz i found a 89 integ motor and tranny at the junky for $200 cdn it has no distrubter and 175km just wondering should i spend the $$ on the zc or will the integ motor be as good
The 1G teg (86-89) came with two different engines. The 86/87 was the olive (brown) valve cover, with the drivers side mount on the front of the block, which bolts into a 1G CRX or 3G Civic with the NA front mount. The 88/89 was a black top, with the drivers side mount on the side of the block, and fits the 2G CRX and 4G Civic. The JDM brown top ZC is the same mounting as the 86/87 teg, and the JDM black top ZC has the same mounts as the 88/89 teg. As for horespower, the 86/87 NA teg is 113, 88/89 is 118, brown top ZC is 130, not sure about the black top ZC, 135?

1st generation ZC's (1985-1987)
Brown Valve Cover ZCs
The first ZC came in the 85-87 Civic and CRX Si. It looks similar to the 86-87 US Integra engine with the exception of the intake manifold and throttlebody. The throttle body is identical to the US 85-87 CRX Si throttlebody. As for the manifold, there is no EACV as found on the Integra engine. Interestingly, these were the most powerful of the ZCs. Along with some of the 86-87 Integra models the engine is rated at 135PS. After 1988 the max power for a ZC was 130PS.
The 86-87 Integra came with a ZC also. The intake and throttlebody are virtually identical to that of it's US counterpart. This engine is also reated at 135PS, compare this to the US Integra 112 HP. The majority of the difference is probably contributed to the difference in the ECU programming and the much higher quality gas available in Japan. There may be some differences in compression ratio or cams, but without accurate measurement I cannot confirm this.
