i have a question about wire tucks dose it make it harder or dose it take longer to pull the motor in and out

Besides look cleaner and simpler, does it offer any other benefit? I mean sure shorter wires are better in general, but I can imagine you having to lengthen some wiring just to hide it underneath/behind the fenders am I right? Also, isn't there usually a ground on the valve cover to the chassis?
