Default car throwing code 8

well i have had problems starting my car..the car starts, but sometime it doesnt, if that happens, i always had to jumpstart it.. i replace the battery, changed ground wires, ( battery is relocated in the trunk, i was thinkin that where is the best ground wire it is for a CRX in the trunk?)...well anyways the ECU throw code 8, which means TDC-effective sensor or effective wire, so i change the distributor to a new one, and the code still there, so i check the wiring, and all the pins, and everything is perfect, but its still there..i tried 3 different distributor from different cars that start perfectly, i even tried different ECU..and i still have probblem starting the car....so wahts my problem?

I know this is a really old post, but my crx is having the same problem. It needed to be jumped a couple of times, But now it will not start. It wount even crank. The check engine light comes on and its a code 8. How can the CPS prevent the car starting? TIA

Has anyone else ever had this problem? I did do a search, but it didn't yield anything.

Try swapping that distributor.
