Tokico Illumina R Full coilover suspension. (White)
*It has 5-ways adjustable shock damper, from Firm to Stiff(track-street)
*Height adjustable, lower down or up 3" inches
I got one on my hatch and people alway complement me, how well the ride was.
Turn the dial and ready for street cruising or track on the stiffer seting.
Cost about $725 shipped

I'm running on Skunk2 Pro-Series full coilovers. There like $549.</TD></TR></TABLE>

If you want a 2-3" drop that's smooth, look into some type of progressive-rated spring. I'd suggest Sprints, which are on sale through Import Parts. I believe for your EM1 they'll give you a 2.5" drop, but check on that. They're progressive rated, which will yield a compliant ride.
I used them on my EJ8 with Koni Yellows (stock perch setting), and I loved the setup. Had it for 5 years without any sagging/rusting/whatever problems. Obviously not the best if you're looking for a very aggressive feel, but with the Yellows set fairly stiff it suited my skills and driving style. The only thing I didn't like about it was through quick left-right-left transitions there was a slight hesitation on turn-in when really pushed, so I had to be pretty smooth with the steering wheel. Might've been due to numerous other factors, though.
Daily driving, I set the shocks 2 turns from full soft in front and 1 in the rear, and it felt almost stock-ish but a little firmer. Still very controlled and controllable but very smooth. 2/1 turns front/rear was the best compromise for me for spirited runs thrown into a large dose of daily driving.

Do you have anything to back that statement up with or are you just talking out of your ***?

This question is easier than some, since of the "big three" suspension goals (looks, comfort, performance), you're only looking for two - looks and comfort.
You can't lower a Civic 3 inches and keep a smooth ride without using air bags or air cylinders. 2 inches is do-able with conventional coilover suspension, but the car is obviously not going to ride as comfortably as stock. Couple a set of "sport" springs or GC coilovers (with comparable rates) with a good damper like Tokico Illumina, Koni Special or Koni Sport and you'll be set. Or you may want to look at a softly-sprung coilover kit such as Tein Basic.

If you want to drop it that much and still have a smooth ride, the best route to go would probably be Koni Yellow shocks, GC coilovers with softer spring rates (Limited Edition would work I'd imagine) and GC shock mounts.
Your other option would be to get a double adjustable full coilover system that doesn't change the shock length when lowering. But ride comfort may not be as smooth as what you're hoping for.

Look into koni yellows + h&r sports. Provides a smooth ride on *good* roads. Its firm, but still comfortable enough for daily driving. I've been on this setup for nearly 2yrs now and I've been quite happy with it.
