Ok i was on the highway and i saw a red mustang start to tailgate me...of course i took off in third gear and as i was at redline goin about 95 i went to go put it in 4th and BOOM...i put it in 2nd my mistake,my rpm went to about 13000, i look behind me and all i see was black smoke. I put it back in neutral and let it role to the emergency lane. I tryed starting it and the timing is all messed up,and the oil,engine light,srs lights are on...i think i bent a exhaust valve? wut u guys think it is???

 

over reved the motor, now its prob shot. should have let the guy run into your *** end,he would have had to pay for it then

an exhaust valve? try multiple.

ya if you dont know that much about engines take it somewhere cause youre gonna have quite a mess there...

 

your fucked, the motor is probobly toast. multiple bent valves maybe fucked up piston (s) not to mention you must have looed like a real ricer, trying to pull away from a mustang speeding than blowing your **** up. if i were the guy in the mustang i would have laughed so hard i would have wrecked into you. you sir are a loser

i knew the kid in the mustang he was cool...he pulled in front of me in the emergency lane to see if da car is alright...but when i tryed starting it...he heard it and started laughin...fukin domestics

 

i know a guy who would always throw third to first @ 25mph on a ex motor, the bitch jump like **** but one time the tranny locked in second and busted his **** like you. f*ckin amatures!!! good luck fixin it!!!

What kind of Stang was it? It wasn't one of those '93 LX's with a 5.0 in it was it? Hmmm..95 and straight into 2nd..lol...Good luck man.

A red 'Stang? For a second there I thought it was my dad. My friend did the samething on my DA before. He was in 5th going about 70ish, maybe 80 and since I taught him how to downshift that week, he slapped it into 2nd! I don't remember teaching him that! The motor revved like crazy for about 3 seconds, until he got scared and lefted it to roll on neutral. After that, I was just staring at him like WTF did you just do?! Luckily nothing happened to my car. Student OWNS Teacher.

lol.. same happened when i tried teaching one of my girlfriends.. sum girls just cant drive a stick.. but i shouldn't talk.. i was racing my guys teg and fucked up once.. no need for story... ill just get flamed.....

all i can say to Mr. GSR King is, that sucks and good luck, hopefully you didn't REALLY **** nething up.. and its a somewhat easy fix...

 

Thats what you get for removing your rev limiter.

Rev limiter won't save you on a misshift, because you are mechanically forcing the internals to rev to infinity...

yup.

the worst that could have happened to you is you have broken pistons, rods and valves. the least that could have happened is you have a bunch of bent valves. only way to know is to pull the head and check it out.

Ditto. It's there to prevent serious damage....Well in your case it was there.

 

What do yea got there bud, one of them F1 formula tach's with a 20,000 rev limiter?, how could you even tell you hit 13,000....jeez la freakin weez.

 

WHats even more funny is that, i saw 5 other threads from other people who did the same thing. i dont know is it just that 2005 is a really bad year or all the domestic guys are doing voodoo or something on our cars lol.
you at least bent your valves. if not more. pull your head and see whats down there. BEWARE it wont be pretty.
