DIY Body work?
There are a couple imperfections on my ej8 (both from my own bullshit) and its been bothering me for some time. Now im on a DIY binge, but id like to take care of these small eyesores.
Ive been able to find a lot of information about painting, so only one question on that. If I repaint a spot on my driverside rear qtr panel (sand, and the whole painting process, prime base and clear coats) will it look fine? I doubt my paint has faded, but could that be a problem?
Anyway... on to the real questions. What sort of putty should I look for to take care of small dents/scratches? On the quarter pannel is small from when I opened another car door into it.
So, its a small scrape/scratch and a small dent, but I was thinking about filling that one in, and the other places are on the fenders, which look like they might come out strangely, so I have already accepted that I may have to buy new fenders. I have thought about buying one of those "Pops-a-dent" things off ebay to see if it can take care of the fenders.
Anywho, sorry if I strayed from the point, but id like to know what sort of putty/bondo/whatever would be best to use, and if doing a diy repaint will be a noticeably different shade? (as long as I have all the paint mixed properly.) And also let me add... i have no real experience, nor am I a professional of this stuff. So, thanks for the information in advance, and wish me luck.

Paint will NEVER EVER match, you MUST blend.
EXAMPLE= If you have damage on your quarter you repaint the whole quarter and blend onto the door
Never use bondo its the devil.
Use evercoat.
First bring area down to bare metal.
Apply filler.
Sand to shape.
Apply glazing putty if needed to smooth out.
Spray metal etch on bare metal spots.
Prime with high build primer.
Spray primer with check coat and block out(wetsand) untill perfectly level.
Scuff were you plan to paint and blend.
Lay color.
Lay clear.
Wetsand.
Buff.
Done.

When repainting?
You only need to scuff the clear to repaint.

Couple houndred bucks.
