ef axle question for swap, searched but cant find answer i need
i am going to be doing a 98+itr swap in my 89 civic std...already has a b6a2 in it ran obd1 using 99-00 si axles with 90-91 outter joints..but the cv joints click..is there a setup i can use without putting to together? would i have to change axles seals etc?
You can use pretty much any b series axles as long as the axles and intermediate shaft are from the same car. I have been using 90-93 integra axles and matching intermediate shaft.
so if i am using a 98+ itr motor/trans with that intermidaite shaft that i can use those axles? i heard something about if used 90-93 teg shaft/axles i would have to change the tran seal?

bump cause i would like to know too. IM looking to swap in an itr engine/tranny and wondering if i should use ITR axles? Im running 90-93 integra axles right now with my b16, but i figure itr axles would be stronger.
i had ls axles on my b18 crx, worked fine. you can go to autozone and pretty much get free axles every time you break one, as long as you return the broken ones.
Well it is pretty much known by everyone that 90-93 axles are the ones to use for b-series cable tranny's in the ef chassis.
The real question is what axles do you run when using a b-series hydro tranny in the ef chassis? It would be great to hear from someone who has actually done this.
and yes ive tried searching.

B-serie trannies are all the same size are they not. Just one is cable controlled and the other is hydro. Therefore you should just be able to bolt the ITR engine/tranny right in with 90-93 integra axles.
but would i have to change the axles seals so i dont leak all over? just what i heard but not 100% sure..if so i will go order em up..swaps on it way in just got to figure the axles probs 1rst ..and also what ecu should i run chipped p28? if so what program?
